World Future Energy Summit

The World Future Energy Summit (WFES), hosted by Masdar, is the world's foremost annual meeting committed to promoting the advancement of future energy, energy efficiency and clean technologies by engaging political, business, finance, academic and industry leaders to drive innovation, business and investment opportunities in response to the growing need for sustainable energy.

  • The 5th edition of WFES 2012 was held over four days, 16-19 January at ADNEC
  • 26,200 attended WFES 2012 representing over 136 countries
  • 623 companies exhibited from 37 countries
  • Over 2,000 unique products were showcased during the course of the exhibition
  • International visitors exceeded the local ones for the first time (53% international vs 47% local)
  • The Summit attendance reached up to 934 international delegates
  • 53 official delegations
  • Over 150 leaders and experts spoke at the Summit
  • The opening ceremony alone welcomed over 3,200 attendees
  • Media registration surpassed 660
  • Targeted audience from the renewable energy, energy efficiency, solar power, wind and waste management industry
  • The 5th edition was supported by IRENA
  • WFES 2012 also featured Innovate @ WFES, project village, roundtable discussions, an outlook forum by ExxomMobil and a product guide about newly launched products
