i) Risk Management
ii) Healthcare
iii) Internet
iv) Analytic and data technologies
Financial potential
Ventures will only invest in companies that have a sizeable market opportunity; a clearly differentiated and economically attractive strategy; an outstanding management team; a realistic path to IPO or sale; and a reasonable entry valuation.
Strategic fit
Ventures looks to find companies that have the potential to complement Reed Elsevier’s existing operations through the prospect of a strong commercial relationship benefiting both parties.
Investment stage
Round A and later, but not seed stage. Our preferred investment profile is a company that has already raised or is raising a round of capital including top-tier investment funds, has a strong management team, a proven product and a growing revenue stream from customers.
Geographical focus
The fund will invest in opportunities in US, Europe and Israel.
Size of investment
The fund will initially invest between $1m and $10m, depending on the stage of the investment.
Position in financing round
Ventures will lead rounds or co-invest as part of a syndicate.
