The Reed Elsevier Code of Ethics and Business Conduct is a guide for the way we go about achieving our business goals and helps us behave in an open, honest, ethical and principled manner. It incorporates the provisions of the UN Global Compact to which Reed Elsevier is a signatory.
In 2006, we updated the Code with approval from the Reed Elsevier Board, to include a simplified conflict of interest policy; clear guidelines on the use of Reed Elsevier systems by employees to send, receive or store information; and clarification of the prohibition against fraud, particularly in regard to communications with internal and external auditors.
Since being updated, the revised Code has been disseminated to our employees worldwide with a significant number receiving special online training. We have also made it easier for employees to report violations of the Code using either an electronic form to file anonymous reports or a toll-free, confidential line which is now available for both US and UK employees.
