At Gold Standard, our mission is to deliver better clinical decision support to physicians, pharmacists and nurses, to help them make better decisions as it pertains to prescribing, dispensing and administering medications. Anything we can do to reduce medication errors and improve patient care is what we're all about.
When our business was acquired by Reed Elsevier in 2006 it was absolutely the best outcome we could have hoped for. As part of a large organisation, the team at Gold Standard now has access to the support and resources we need to help us grow, as individuals and also as a company.
The high quality training and development is a key factor that marks this as a supportive working environment. Courses such as sales training, product management knowledge and overall management and leadership skills have made a real difference to many of the 65+ people who work for Gold Standard. From a personal perspective, I've benefited from a number of sessions including the Elsevier Management Programme, Extraordinary Leader and the Business Leadership Programme. These were very well organised programmes which also gave me the chance to meet others from the group and establish a network of good contacts throughout Reed Elsevier.
My career has been neatly bookended by Reed Elsevier. I started out at LexisNexis when it was a small business start-up and I worked there for 21 years, during which time it was bought by the group. Now I'm back in the Reed Elsevier family and very glad to be here.
